Overview

In Tenebris Dominus you play as Lazarus, the son of a long missing hero that ended one of the most devastating wars to strike humanity. The King calls upon you to ensure the entity responsible doesn't get resurrected, and along the way you are joined by many others with a shared goal and interest.

Step into the world of Aretisia and save the future to come.

It's worth noting that I am not an artist, so I'm using default RMMV assets for most things. I'm more interested in having a well developed story and gameplay than in having Tenebris Dominus stand out visually, so hopefully you will still give it a chance despite this.

Gameplay

Aretisia: Tenebris Dominus is a turn based RPG where the combat was extensively tested to be difficult while increasing your options as you level up. Additionally certain encounters are designed as puzzles, where the method to winning may be partially obscured or unclear but still able to be solved through logic, experimentation, or previously learned information. Due to this design, certain optional encounters may not be possible on your first time coming across them - you may need an item or skill that you currently do not have to make it easier (or even beatable at all). Remember that running is always an option, and sometimes may be the only correct one.

With a roster of four unique party members and some powerful equippable items that allow you to modify the role of each character, you can create fairly distinct party builds that play differently. Some of these builds will be more powerful than others but the game should be beatable with whatever you choose to do (within reason).

The game contains two colour based environmental puzzles that are required for story progression which may be difficult for people with colour blindness to complete. If you cannot solve these puzzles I'm willing to put together a guide for them.

Development State

Demo 2 is currently available for download containing the majority of the game. This will probably take around 4 to 5 hours for a first playthrough, and ends near the end game (around 3/4 of the full game). If you played Demo 1 you should be able to transfer your progress safely to the new demo and you will be able to transfer your progress between Demo 2 and the full release when that happens.

There is currently no time frame for when the full game will be done.
